Gajapati Maharaja Divyasingha Deb has objected to ISKCON’s untimely Ratha Jatra celebrations, saying the organisation is not following the traditions and teachings related to Lord Jagannath as mentioned in the Skanda Purana.
He alleged that ISKCON is organising off-season Ratha Jatras for publicity and donations. The Gajapati also said the Central Government can take action against the organisation if it chooses to do so.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions over ISKCON’s Ratha Jatra celebrations outside the traditional schedule.
