US-Iran Tensions Escalate After Fresh Military Strikes

The United States has carried out fresh strikes on Iran, saying the action was in response to Iranian attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), more than 80 Iranian targets were hit, including air defence systems, radar sites and military assets near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media reported explosions in several areas, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had targeted 85 US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait in retaliation.

The latest exchange of attacks comes despite an existing ceasefire agreement between the two countries, raising concerns over increasing tensions in the region.
